The Monterey County Sheriff’s office is reporting a surge in covid 19 infections at the county jail. As of Friday at least 67 inmates tested positive for the virus. The sheriff’s department is in the process of tracing the source of the infection into the jail’s inmate population. At this time infected inmates are being quarantined in an isolated section of the Monterey County Jail.
