A Monterey County Sheriff’s deputy was injured while responding to a of domestic violence call on Saturday. A patrol unit responded to Grant Street in Chualar at 4:30 a-m to a reported domestic violence incident, where 25 year old Gilberto Acosta had allegedly assaulted the mother of his child. When police arrived Acosta attempted to flee in his truck, ramming the patrol car. When Acosta was unable to get away, he surrendered to the officers. The deputy was treated for minor injuries.
