A Monterey County Sheriff’s deputy is back on patrol. After several months of jail duty, Deputy Scot Davis is back in a patrol unit. Davis was assigned to the jail, after he attempted to help Salinas Police with a car chase. Davis deployed a spike strip which flattened the tires of a Salinas cruiser. Davis is also a Salinas city council member and has announced he will be running for sheriff in the next election.
