FIFTEEN PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED AFTER A MEXICAN DRUG CARTEL WAS BUSTED ON THE CENTRAL COAST YESTERDAY. OFFICERS FROM STATE, FEDERAL AND LOCAL AGENCIES WERE CONDUCTING A FIVE MONTH LONG INVESTIGATION INTO A MAJOR NARCOTICS OPERATION DEALING WITH TRAFFICKING AND SALES OF LARGE AMOUNTS OF HEROIN BEING EXPORTED TO THE CENTRAL COAST. PRIOR TO YESTERDAY’S BUST, 2 1/4 POUNDS OF HEROIN AND 1 OUNCE OF METHAMPHETAMINE WITH A STREET VALUE OF $100,000 WAS SEIZED, AND DURING YESTERDAY’S BUST AN ADDITIONAL QUANTITY OF SUSPECTED BLACK TAR HEROIN AND HEROIN IN PILL FORM WERE ALSO SEIZED.
