the mental competency exam for a man accused of raping an employee of a santa cruz coffee shop in 2008 has been delayed. the mental competency of 22 year old elvis garcia was questioned by a santa cruz county superior court judge as his trial approached in january. the results of a PSYCHOLOGICAL evaluation were expected on thursday, but prosecutors said the doctor needed more time to complete it. garcia is due back in court on april 5th. he faces life in prison is convicted.
