Starting today, Virtual E-R Visits are possible at Mee Memorial Hospital in King City. The program is all about eliminating barriers in getting to a doctor or the E.R. The new system will allow patients to go on-line to at least start their visit, even if it is determined later that the person needs to make a trip to the E.R. in-person. If they need to do that, the ER team will at least be ready for them, and any needed tests can be pre-ordered. Another advantage to the new system is that if the hospital is dealing with an increased load, a doctor from the community can log-in remotely to ‘see patients’.
