A sobriety checkpoint is slated for tomorrow night somewhere in the unincorporated area of Monterey County, and is expected to last through the early morning hours on Friday. The checkpoint is an effort reduce road hazards and fatal traffic collisions. Last year the Monterey office of the C-H-P investigated 21 fatal traffic accidents which resulted in the loss of 26 lives. Police say of these collisions, 4 were caused by someone under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
