The timeline has been pushed back for the construction of the new Monterey County Juvenile Hall. That’s because even though a second round of bids have been received, the project is still coming in more than $5-million over-budget. Officials with the city of Salinas have been instructed to find the money needed to cover the construction of the facility….because if they don’t the city will have to send back the $35-million in state grant money earmarked for the project.
