Firefighters from cal-fire were able to contain a grass- fire to 2-and-a-half-acres monday afternoon. The fire erupted just after 3 p.m. near the shooting range on a county park (north of monterey-salinas highway). Air tankers were called in to help fight the blaze, which was contained before it got out of hand. The cause is under investigation.
