Authorities announced that 19-people were arrested during a gang sweep in Monterey county on Friday. The joint Cal-Grip operation involved multiple local departments and state agencies. The operation was part of the “4 Cities for Peace” initiative, as part of the on-going cal-grip enforcement effort. The arrests focused on convicted gang members, and were for a variety of crimes, including possession of a controlled substance, possession of a deadly weapon, and other probation and parole violations. 4-of the arrestees were juveniles. 16 of the arrestees were booked into Monterey County Jail or Juvenile Hall, while 3-were cited and released.
