At least 2 separate organizations expect to provide thanksgiving meals to people in Monterey county….and those 2 plan to distribute the meals via the drive-thru method. The Food Bank For Monterey County (working with the Kiwanis Club and the City Of Monterey) will hand out thanksgiving dinners….to people who have registered for them….at a drive-thru in the parkinglot for Dennis The Menace Park in Monterey. That distribution is scheduled to be between 10 a-m and 2 p-m a week from today (November 25th).
The Salvation Army will hand out as many meals as they have in a drive thru that will take place on thanksgiving day (November 26th), starting at 11:45 a-m at their location at 2460 North Main Street in Salinas.
