Although everyone is still urged to continue standard Covid-19 safety protocols, it looks as though Monterey county will soon join Santa Cruz county in the state’s Red Tier. That’s expected to happen on Wednesday if the metrics are still right on Tuesday. If it happens, this will be the first time that Monterey county has made it out of the purple tier since the tier system was created.
Most counties were able to briefly move up to red earlier in the year, however, Monterey county’s metrics didn’t support that move.
