Now in Monterey county you must wear a face covering when interacting with the public.
Businesses are ordered to refuse service to anyone not wearing a mask. Monterey was the last county on the central coast to require face coverings while doing essential activities. The directive came weeks after the centers for disease control recommended the people cover their faces in public.
But there are several exemptions including… children under 12, walkers, joggers, bike riders and those riding in the car by themselves.
