MBOSC Update on CZU August Lightning Complex Restrictions 09-08-20 08:57

A local organization, known as The Mountain Bikers Of Santa Cruz have filed the following update for the CZU Lightning Complex Fires….

The CZU Lightning Complex Fire settled down a bit this past week, with over 50% containment. However, many folks are still evacuated and our mountain towns are still hustling and bustling with first responders and firefighters. With resources spread thin and many parks damaged from the fire, local land managers have had to close a handful of parks until further notice. Please do your part and respect the below closures.

Closed Areas Include:

Big Basin Redwoods State Park
Wilder Ranch State Park
Henry Cowell State Park
The portion of The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park north of Sand Point on Aptos Creek Fire Road to Buzzard Lagoon Road including the trails in this portion of the park are closed.
The portion of the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park including Hinkley Basin and Hinkley Basin Fire Rd. from Sand Point to Olive Springs Rd.
Soquel Demonstration State Forest
University of California Santa Cruz
Many San Mateo County Parks, including:
Fitzgerald Marine Reserve
Friendship Park
Memorial Park
Moss Beach Park
Pescadero Creek Park
Sam McDonald Park
Sanchez Adobe
Tunitas Creek Beach
Woodside Store
Open Areas Include:

Pogonip
DeLaveaga Park
