(10:30) Monterey – The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office announced 2 people are facing federal drug charges after local and federal investigators uncovered an illegal Furanyl-Fentanyl distribution operation in Monterey this week. The sheriff’s office, along with the Drug Enforcement Administration served two federal search warrants and arrested 28 year-old Madeline Sweet and 28 year-old Everette Cody Reed, for illegal distribution of dangerous narcotics. Both were booked in the Monterey County Jail. The drug is described as a powerful synthetic opiate and is 100 times more powerful than heroin.
