(06:26) SALINAS – Two men were killed and one seriously injured in two separate shootings in Salinas Sunday night. The first incident occurred on the 1000 block of Atlantic Street shortly before 8 p.m. Two men were reportedly standing in front of an apartment complex when they were approached by a gunman. The shooter opened fire on them before fleeing the scene. Both victims were transported to Natividad Medical Center with critical injuries. One was pronounced dead at the hospital. The second shooting occurred shortly before 11 p.m. on the 300 block of Block Avenue. Responding officers found a 21-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers say the victim was working on his car when he was shot by a Hispanic man wearing a light colored, hooded sweatshirt. The gunman may have fled the scene in a mid-sized SUV. The vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on Block Avenue toward Kip Drive. Both shootings are under investigation. (S.G.)
