(07:30) Salinas – Cinco de Mayo has become a deadly holiday due to drunk and drugged driving. Officers from the Salinas Police Department’s DUI Enforcement Team will be deploying this weekend to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers. DUI Saturation Patrols will deploy starting today and continue until 3:00 a.m. on Sunday. High Visibility Enforcement using both DUI checkpoints and DUI Saturation Patrols has proven to lower the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol or drug impaired crashes.
