(19:15) SALINAS – The National Steinbeck Center is receiving a new interim Director. The center, located in downtown Salinas, has been struggling in recent years. A spokesperson for the Board of Trustees says the center is excited about the appointment of Dr. Susan Shillinglaw. Shillinglaw has been a presenter at the center for the past 25 years, and has headed the Steinbeck Center at San Jose State University for 18 years. Dr. Shillinglaw takes over as director Monday, as the center enters a long term partnership with CSU Monterey Bay. (P.M.D.)
