(08:27) SANTA CRUZ – The public is invited to participate in an event in Santa Cruz this week to learn about a new effort in bird conservation. The YardMap project is a program that uses social networking to collect data in order to map bird habitats. On Thursday, a local leader with the project, Rhiannon Crain, will speak about the program and how the community can participate. The talk will be held at the Downtown Library on Church Street from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. (S.G.)
