(10:00) SALINAS- An independent investigation has concluded policy violations were not a factor in the recent thefts of three Salinas police officers’ guns. The city attorney’s office contracted with a private firm to perform the investigation after three officers including the Police Chief had firearms stolen from their vehicles. Officials say although the report did not find any violations, that existing policy will now be reviewed to prevent future incidents. At this time none of the stolen weapons have been recovered.
