(10:13) SACRAMENTO – A group of California farmers have made a deal with state water officials to reduce their water use. The State Water Resources Control Board recently decided to impose a 25 percent cutback on water use statewide. In response, several hundred farmers made a proposal to either decrease water diversions by 25 percent or stop using 25 percent of their land. The board accepted the proposal on Friday. The farmers who made this deal have riparian water rights in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River delta. (M.K.)
