(11:00) Santa Cruz – The Santa Cruz California Highway Patrol reported that a man received a call Monday morning saying his daughter had been kidnapped. Thomas Witz, of Santa Cruz, reported that the caller knew his daughters name, and was demanding money be wired to him. CHP contacted his daughters school and confirmed she was safe. CHP encourages people to secure their social media sites and double check their security settings.
