(11:20) Monterey County – The Monterey County District Attorney’s Office reported that a man was found guilty of child abuse and battery yesterday. 24-year-old Omar Mendez-Sanchez, of Salinas, was found guilty of hitting two nine-year-olds with a belt at an apartment complex last June. The two kids were playing with their squirt guns and accidentally squirted Mendez-Sanchez. Mendez-Sanchez reportedly chased the two children and hit them with his belt. Mendez-Sanchez will be sentenced on June 23, 2017. He faces a maximum of two years in jail.
