(20:31) GOLETA – Clean-up efforts are continuing along the Santa Barbara coastline near Refugio State Beach, where Tuesday’s oil spill started. The oil slick now stretches for about nine miles. The crude oil appears to have spilling from a 24-inch pipeline that ruptured underground. Such pipelines pump about two thousand barrels of oil per hour. Refugio State Beach and El Capitan State Park, which normally have about three thousand campers on Memorial Day Weekend, are both closed, and there is a moratorium on fishing in the area. Anyone who sees a wild animal that has been impacted by the crude oil is encouraged to call the Oiled Wildlife Care Network at 1-877-823-6926. (S.S.)
