A surfer was hospitalized with serious injuries over the weekend while surfing where the Maverick’s surf contest near Half Moon Bay is set to be held. A hospital Spokesman says Jacob Trette of Orange County is in Critical condition after almost drowning when he was caught bya a large set of waves Saturday. Trette was found floating face down at 10 a.m. after wiping out. He was brought to the beach where CPR was performed before being airlifted to Stanford Medical Center.
