THE CITY OF SANTA CRUZ OPENED A NEW TRAIL THIS WEEK THAT’S PART OF THE ARANA GULCH PROJECT. PARKS OFFICIALS SAY THE NEW MARSH VISTA TRAIL IS FOR VISITORS TO ENJOY WHILE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MULTI-USE PLAN IS UNDERWAY. THE QUARTER-MILE TRACK IS A SINGLE TRACK, FOR PEDESTRIANS ONLY. THE TRAIL’S ACCESS POINTS INCLUDE THE AGNES STREET ENTRANCE AND THE COASTAL PRAIRIE TRAIL EXIT. GROUNDBREAKING FOR THE ARANA GULCH MULTI-USE TRAIL PROJECT WAS ON NOVEMBER 19TH. THE PROJECT, WHICH INCLUDES BIKE AND PEDESTRIAN TRAILS ALONG WITH HABITAT PROTECTION, WILL BE BUILT IN 2 PHASES AND WILL TAKE ABOUT A YEAR TO FINISH.
