3-schools in marina were placed on lockdown this afternoon, while an armed man was chased by marina police officers. Marina vista elementary school, marina high school, and los arboles middle school were all locked down at 1:30 p.m., following an armed robbery of an ice cream vendor. That robbery occurred at the corner of carmel avenue and Everett circle. The suspect shot the vendor multiple times in the leg; the victim is expected to recover. A man described as a “person of interest” was taken into custody, however he is not a suspect, and the shooter has not been located. the marina lockdowns were lifted at 2:45p.m. meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, a report of a shooting in Watsonville caused authorities to place rolling hills middle school on lockdown. No injuries were reported in that incident. a shell casing was found at the scene that indicated that a shooting had taken place, however no victims or suspects were located. the lockdown was lifted at 4:07 p.m.
