AN 11-YEAR OLD BOY IS BEING CALLED A LOCAL HERO AFTER RESCUING A LITTLE GIRL FROM A CENTRAL COAST BEACH LAST WEEK. 5-YEAR OLD ALYSSA BOSTIC WAS PLAYING AT MARINA DUNES BEACH WHEN A SAND CAVE COLLAPSED ON HER. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES, THE GIRL WAS PULLED OUT OF THE DUNES BY THE BOY, CONNOR FITZ-GERALD, WHO STARTED TO PERFORM C-P-R ON HER. AUTHORITIES SAY ALYSSA WAS UNCONSCIOUS AND NOT BREATHING. PARAMEDICS ARRIVED SHORTLY AFTERWARDS. FITZGERALD SAYS HE HAS NO FORMAL C-P-R TRAINING AND CREDITS THE TV SHOW NCIS WITH TEACHING THE LIFE-SAVING TECHNIQUE.
