A FORMER MARINA MAYORAL CANDIDATE WAS CONVICTED YESTERDAY (WED) ON HARASSMENT AND ELECTION CODE VIOLATION CHARGES. 44-YEAR-OLD KEVIN SAUNDERS WAS ARRESTED IN AUGUST FOLLOWING ALLEGATIONS OF MAKING THREATS AND ENGAGING IN SOCIAL MEDIA HARASSMENT. OFFICIALS SAY SAUNDERS, A FORMER STUDENT AT THE MONTEREY COLLEGE OF LAW, SENT THREATENING MESSAGES TO SEVERAL OF ITS FACULTY MEMBERS. SAUNDERS ALSO SUBMITTED A FALSE VOTER REGISTRATION TO GET ON THE MAYORAL BALLOT. HE WILL SERVE ONE MONTH IN PRISON, THREE YEARS PROBATION, AND WILL ALSO RECEIVE MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING.
