A MARINA MAN HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO SPEND 9 YEARS BEHIND BARS FOR TRYING TO STRANGLE HIS WIFE. MICHAEL FORTNER, WHO ALREADY HAD A HISTORY OF VIOLENT ACTS, WAS CONVICTED OF ASSAULT BY MEANS LIKELY TO PRODUCE GREAT BODILY INJURY. FORTNER WAS ALSO SENTENCED TO SPEND TWO ADDITIONAL 3-YEAR TERMS IN PRISON (BUT THEY WILL RUN CONCURRENTLY WITH THE OTHER 9 YEAR SENTENCE). THE ADDITIONAL PRISON TERMS ARE FOR INJURING THE CHEST OF HIS VICTIM, AND FOR VIOLATING A RESTRAINING ORDER.
