A 23-year-old Marina man pleaded guilty to murdering a man in the Cannery Row area in 2016. Jorge Mendoza shot Raul Melendez six times after the two got into an argument in November 2016. Mendoza fled to Mexico but was arrested by U.S. Marshals Service months after. He is expected to be sentenced in August and faces life in prison.
