Some residents in marina are saying “not in my backyard” to a proposed cannabis grow operation on the 3-thousand block of Paul Davis Drive.
Mostly neighbors are complaining about the smell from the plants that they fear is unhealthy.
“Element 7,” the growers, say they have odor mitigation technology that will help eliminate the smell from drifting into adjacent neighborhoods.
A permit for the grow operation was already denied but the growers are appealing and the council is set to hear the appeal at this tuesday’s meeting. City officials say tax revenue generated by the business is estimated at 40 to 200-thousand dollars a year.
