(11:18) APTOS – Two people were arrested in Aptos on Sunday for a variety of weapons charges as well as possession of narcotics. Deputies were dispatched to Willowbrook Park around 4 p.m. following a report of a suspicious van that had been parked in the area for several days. 32-year-old Ian Macfarland and 28-year-old Cristina Nikolaou were found occupying the vehicle. A search of the van recovered a loaded semi-automatic assault rifle, rifle magazines, a locksmith kit and heroin. Macfarland and Nikolaou were towing an additional vehicle that contained an antique handgun and additional rifle magazines amongst a large amount of ammunition. Both suspects were booked into Santa Cruz County Jail. (S.G.)
