(12:13) SANTA CRUZ- The UCSC Admissions Department issued an apology after mistakenly sending 4000 congratulatory acceptance emails. An official with the department said that the wrongly emailed high school seniors in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington had never applied for admission, but instead were on a prospective student list. The apology wished them well on all their futre endeavors. The actual number of students accept from the area was about 700.
