(12:49) SANTA CRUZ- Friday marked the five year anniversary of the 9.0 Japanese earthquake and subsequent tsunami that damaged much of the Santa Cruz harbor. The tidal wave did 20 million dollars worth of damage to harbor structures, and destroyed or damaged a significant percentage of vessels within the harbor. The harbor just recently finished repairing the damage sustained to its docks. The occurrence is also responsible for the Tsunami Zone warning signs posted around the harbor and other low lying beach communities.
