MANY MANDATORY EVACUATIONS HAVE BEEN ORDERED IN THE LAST 24 HOURS IN MONTEREY, SANTA CRUZ, AND SAN MATEO COUNTIES. THAT’S MOSTLY DUE TO FIRES THAT WERE CAUSED BY LIGHTNING STRIKES.
PORTIONS OF THE SAN LORENZO VALLEY, BONNY DOON, AND THE SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF SAN MATEO COUNTY ARE BEING HEAVILY IMPACTED BY THE CZU AUGUST LIGHTNING COMPLEX FIRES….WHILE MANY MONTEREY COUNTY RESIDENTS ARE HAVING TO EVACUATE BECAUSE OF THE RIVER, CARMEL, AND/OR DOLAN FIRES. THE RIVER FIRE IS BURNING BETWEEN SALINAS AND MONTEREY, THE CARMEL FIRE HAS CHARRED A PORTION OF THE CARMEL VALLEY, AND THE DOLAN FIRE IS IN THE BIG SUR AREA.
MORE DETAILS FOR ALL THESE FIRES CAN BE FOUND ON-LINE AT fire.ca.gov or www. ksco.com. THEN CLICK ON THE NEWS PAGE, AND THEN LOOK FOR UPDATES ON EACH PARTICULAR FIRE.
