A Salinas man was arrested last night after his ex-wife reported that he had made death threats against her. 42-year-old Cesar Virgen reportedly called his ex-wife and made threatening remarks regarding her and her new boyfriend. He has also allegedly threatened to kill anyone who might get in his way, including police. Virgen’s ex-wife contacted police last night after he told her he was coming to her house to collect his passport. The victim said that Virgen had commented on the Aurora, Colorado shootings, and said if he were to do something like that, he would flee the country. Salinas Police contacted Virgen at his business on Simas St. and arrested him without incident. They found a .22 caliber handgun at that location, and a rifle at Virgen’s other business. He was booked into Monterey County Jail on charges of making criminal threats for $500,000 bail.
