A 46 YEAR-OLD MOTORCYCLIST WAS AIR-LIFTED TO A BAY AREA TRAUMA CENTER AFTER HIS MOTORCYCLE (AND ANOTHER VEHICLE) COLLIDED IN SALINAS YESTERDAY. THE 11 A-M ACCIDENT OCCURRED NEAR THE JOHN STREET OVERPASS OVER HIGHWAY 101. ALEJANDRO ANDRADE, WHO WAS WEARING A HELMET AT THE TIME, HIT HIS HEAD ON THE PAVEMENT (HARD ENOUGH TO RENDER HIM UNCONSCIOUS). AS OF THIS MORNING, ANDRADE, WHO WAS IN THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT, WAS STILL UNCONSCIOUS.
