THE LOMPICO WATER DISTRICT IS SEARCHING FOR ADDITIONAL WATER SOURCES. OPTIONS INCLUDE RENOVATING THE LEWIS TREATMENT PLANT AND ACCESSING A BACKUP WATER WELL. BOTH HAVE BEEN UNUSED FOR YEARS AND WOULD REQUIRE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX. THE DISTRICT WILL MOVE FORWARD WITH A PROJECT UNLESS THE SAN LORENZO VALLEY WATER DISTRICT APPROVES AN EMERGENCY PIPELINE. LOMPICO IS LISTED AS ONE OF SEVENTEEN RURAL COMMUNITIES AT RISK OF RUNNING OUT OF WATER BETWEEN 2 TO 4 MONTHS.
