A temporary fix to Lompico’s water supply crisis was given the green light last night. San Lorenzo Valley Water District’s Board approved a plan for a $115,000 temporary pipeline. The pipeline would be paid for by state emergency funds, and would bring more water into Lompico by allowing it to turn off wells to perform maintenance. San Lorenzo would determine the amount of water coming through the pipeline, while the fees would be paid for by Lompico customers. The emergency pipeline does not address a proposed merger with SLV water, which is a permanent more powerful pipeline costing $750,000. SLV water district board members are expected to discuss details of the proposed merger at it’s meeting next Thursday.
