A YELLOW FEVER MOSQUITO HAS BEEN FOUND IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA OF SAN MATEO COUNTY.   THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH CONFIRMED THE MOSQUITO, WHICH WAS FOUND THIS WEEK AT HOLY CROSS CEMETERY IN MENLO PARK.   OFFICIALS SAY THE YELLOW FEVER MOSQUITO IS TINY - ABOUT A QUARTER OF AN INCH LONG - BLACK AND WHITE - THAT BITES MOST OFTEN DURING THE DAY, AND HAS THE POTENTIAL TO TRANSMIT SEVERAL VIRUSES, INCLUDING DENGUE AND YELLOW FEVER.  REPORTS SHOW THIS TYPE OF MOSQUITO WAS FOUND EARLIER THIS SUMMER IN FRESNO AND MADERA COUNTIES.   SO FAR NO ILLNESSES HAVE BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH IT.
