Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

After years of praying for rain, Santa Cruz County has had more than its fill. Looking for something to bet on now that the Super Bowl is in the past? Try betting on whether 17 will stay open!

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

SALINAS POLICE RESPONDED TO REPORTS OF GUNFIRE ON THE 4 HUNDRED BLOCK OF WILLIAMS ROAD FRIDAY NIGHT.    WHEN OFFICERS ARRIVED AT THE SCENE, AROUND 10:42 P-M, THEY FOUND 38 YEAR OLD JOSE MARAVILLE-RUIZ UNCONSCIOUS SUFFERING FROM A GUNSHOT WOUND, HE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT AN AREA HOSPITAL.    A SECOND VICTIM, A 21 YEAR OLD MALE, WAS AIRLIFTED TO A TRAUMA CENTER, AND TREATED FOR A GUNSHOT WOUND TO THE UPPER TOSO.   THE SURVIVING VICTIM TOLD INVESTIGATORS THAT GANG MEMBERS APPROACHED THEM, THEN ASKED THEIR GANG AFFILIATION, AND OPENED FIRE EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD STATED THAT THEY WERE NOT GANG MEMBERS. ANYONE WITH ANY INFORMATION IS URGED TO CONTACT THE SALINAS POLICE DEPARTMENT.
