A PLAN TO PROVIDE PARKING FOR THE HOMELESS IS IN THE WORKS IN MONTEREY.   THE CITY COUNCIL AGREED ON AN OUTREACH RESEARCH PLAN THAT WOULD PROVIDE A SAFE PARKING PROGRAM FOR THE HOMELESS COMMUNITY.    SO FAR, NO PARKING LOTS OR SPACES HAVE BEEN CHOSEN.  THE CITY PLANS TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL CENTRAL COAST CITIES.   COST FOR THE PROGRAM IS AROUND 50-THOUSAND DOLLARS, AND IS EXPECTED TO BE MODELED AFTER ONE INITIATED LAST YEAR IN SAN LUIS OBISPO.
