IT TOOK FIREFIGHTERS JUST OVER AN HOUR TO CONTAIN A HALF-ACRE WILDFIRE NEAR EMPIRE GRADE AND FELTON EMPIRE ROAD THIS AFTERNOON.    AFTER SMOKE WAS REPORTED, A HELICOPTER CREW FOUND THE FIRE MOVING SLOWLY UP A HILLSIDE.    THE FIRE WAS CONTAINED BY DROPPING WATER FROM THE AIR,  AND FIRE CREWS WORKING ON THE GROUND.     TRAFFIC WAS STOPPED BRIEFLY ON FELTON EMPIRE ROAD,  AND THEN REDUCED TO ONE LANE AROUND 3 P-M.

NO BUILDINGS WERE DAMAGED, NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED, AND THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS STILL BEING INVESTIGATED.
