Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

A DECISION WAS MADE THIS WEEK TO REVERSE A CLAIM FILED BY A FAMILY WHO SUSTAINED PROPERTY DAMAGE DURING AN OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING THIS PAST SPRING.   SANTA CRUZ CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS DENIED THE DOYLE STREET PROPERTY OWNER’S CLAIM EARLIER THIS MONTH BUT RECONSIDERED IT DURING A CLOSED SESSION YESTERDAY. THE OWNER’S SAY THEY TOOK CARE OF THE MOST OF THE REPAIRS STEMMING FROM THE FEBRUARY 26TH SHOOTING THAT LEFT DETECTIVE SARGENT BUTCH BAKER AND DETECTIVE ELIZABETH BUTLER DEAD.  UP TO $5,000 IN COMPENSATION WAS AUTHORIZED BY THE COUNCIL.
