DRY VEGETATION AND A RISE IN FIRE DANGER HAS PROMPTED INCREASED FIRE RESTRICTIONS BEGINNING TODAY FOR THE LOS PADRES NATIONAL FOREST.  THE RESTRICTIONS INCLUDE BANNING WOOD AND CHARCOAL FIRES IN ALL AREAS OF THE FOREST INCLUDING DESIGNATED CAMPFIRE USE SITES; PROHIBITING RECREATIONAL TARGET SHOOTING UNLESS AUTHORIZED BY A SPECIAL USE PERMIT; SMOKING IS ALSO BANNED EXCEPT WITHIN AN ENCLOSED VEHICLE, BUILDING, OR DESIGNATED CAMPFIRE USE SITE AND FINALLY THE USE OF FIREWORKS ARE ALSO PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES AND IN ALL LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE FOREST.
