Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

After years of praying for rain, Santa Cruz County has had more than its fill. Looking for something to bet on now that the Super Bowl is in the past? Try betting on whether 17 will stay open!

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

3  GUAVA  FRUIT  FLIES  WERE  FOUND  RECENTLY  IN  SAN  JOSE,   AND  THAT  HAS  SOME  CENTRAL  COAST  FARMERS  ON  HIGH  ALERT.    THE  6-MILLIMETER  CROP-KILLERS  REPORTEDLY  DON’T  LOOK  LIKE  MUCH  OF  A  THREAT,   BUT  IF  THEY  GET  INTO  AN  APPLE  ORCHARD,   THEY  CAN  CAUSE  THE ORCHARD  TO  BE  QUARANTINED....WHICH  MEANS NO APPLES  ARE ALLOWED OUT OF  THE COUNTY.

IT  IS  THOUGHT  THAT  THE  FLIES  MAY  HAVE  PIGGYBACKED  A  RIDE  FROM  SOUTH  ASIA,  WHERE  THEY ORIGINATE.
