Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

After years of praying for rain, Santa Cruz County has had more than its fill. Looking for something to bet on now that the Super Bowl is in the past? Try betting on whether 17 will stay open!

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

AS OF YESTERDAY (MONDAY), THE DAYS OF FREE PARKING IN THE LARGEST PARKING GARAGE IN DOWNTOWN SANTA CRUZ ARE NOW OVER.   PARKING AT THE RIVER/FRONT GARAGE WILL NOW COST YOU A MINIMUM OF ONE-DOLLAR TO PARK FOR THE FIRST TWO HOURS, WITH A MAXIMUM CHARGE OF FIVE-DOLLARS FOR ALL DAY.  THE CHANGES ARE GEARED TOWARDS UTILIZING PARKING METERS FOR SHORT-TERM STAYS AND GARAGES AND LOTS FOR LONGER VISITS, AND OVERALL IS PART OF A THREE-YEAR EFFORT BY THE CITY TO CONVERT LARGE GARAGES AND LOTS TO PAID PARKING.
