THE SANTA CRUZ CENTRAL LIBRARY, WILL END THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM THIS YEAR, BY PUTTING ON “TEEN BATTLE OF THE BANDS.  THE FUNCTION SERVES TO GIVE THANKS TO LOCAL YOUTH FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE READING PROGRAM, AND TO CREATE A FAMILY FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE OF FUN AND MUSIC. A NUMBER OF BANDS, SUCH AS BLACK SAND AND BLUE WEEKEND, ARE LINED UP TO PERFORM. THE RETURNING CHAMPS, RAPID FIRE, IS ALSO ON THE BILL. SOME OF THE PRIZES IN STORE ARE RECORDING HOURS AT GADGETBOX AND OTHER STUDIO VENUES, AS WELL AS GIFT CERTIFICATES TO MORE MUSIC. THE EVENT IS TO TAKE PLACE FROM 1:00 PM TO 4:00PM, ON SATURDAY,JULY 24THY. IT WILL BE HELD IN THE CITY PARKING LOT, NEXT TO THE DOWNTOWN BRANCH OF THE LIBRARY, LOCATED AT 224 CHURCH STREET.
