Flooding, Road Closures As Heavy Rains Fall On Saturated Ground

After years of praying for rain, Santa Cruz County has had more than its fill. Looking for something to bet on now that the Super Bowl is in the past? Try betting on whether 17 will stay open!

Take A Look At Some Local Flooding

NO ONE WAS INJURED EARLY THIS MORNING (THURS) AFTER A BLAZE BROKE OUT AT A WATSONVILLE STORAGE UNIT.  FIRE CREWS FROM MULTIPLE AGENCIES ARRIVED TO THE 3-HUNDRED BLOCK OF INDUSTRIAL ROAD JUST AFTER 5:30 TO FIND SMOKE COMING FROM THE BUILDING.  FIREFIGHTERS CUT THROUGH THE UNIT’S LOCKED ROLLING DOORS TO REACH THE BLAZE WHICH WAS CONTAINED AFTER AN HOUR.  TWO MOTOR HOMES AND FOUR BOATS SUSTAINED SOME FIRE AND SMOKE DAMAGE.  POWER ON THE PROPERTY WAS SHUT DOWN FOR A FEW HOURS AFFECTING SEVERAL BUSINESSES INCLUDING CALIFORNIAGIANT BERRY FARMS AND NEW WEST COOLING COMPANY.
